A Must See
Known for its mild climate, market gardens, craft shops and gardens open to visitors, Otaki is
rich in history and Maori culture. The Otaki Gorge road leads into the Tararua Range and Forest
Park for fine tramping. The Otaki River provides rafting and kayaking. Otaki has a natural
unspoiled beach good for swimming and fishing.
Otaki has four known zones to the locals and below is a break down of theses areas.

Over the last couple of years this area has experienced a significant
resurgence in the retail sector. There has been a major influx of national
retailers, locating at the railway with there factory outlet stores.
I never thought we would be able to promote Otaki as a shopping
destination, but this has definitely changed and along with other whispers
going around, the future looks quite exciting for this part of town.

New Store Proud to Be New Zealand Made - Norsewear
There is a new retail store opening in Otaki over Labour
weekend that is proud to stock only true New Zealand Made
products, says Norsewear CEO Robert Linterman.
“The new store will be selling products from genuine New Zealand
manufacturers – mainly Norsewear and Swazi.  
These businesses have made the decision to stay in New Zealand,
make their products in New Zealand and create jobs in New
Zealand.  I’m excited and proud that our new store will be
selling only New Zealand Made products,” says Mr Linterman
